Swatch has partnered with its luxury brand Blancpain to launch a new watch collection called Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms on Saturday. The watchmaking company, led by Nick Hayek, unveiled this new range on Thursday, releasing the details on its website. The new collection consists of five watches named after the five oceans of the planet. These mechanical and waterproof watches, whose prices have not been disclosed, will be available from selected Swatch stores starting Saturday. It is a non-limited collection.
A few days ago, the group posted an image on its official Instagram account featuring the five oceans of the planet and the brief message ‘Blancpain X Swatch’, followed by the date ‘09.09.2023’, which is this Saturday.
This new partnership may resemble the one launched in March 2022 between Omega and the Swatch brand, which gave birth to the highly coveted Moonswatch. Sold at 250 francs each, it is much less expensive than the original Omega model, which starts at 6000 francs.
Blancpain, founded in 1735 and part of the Swatch Group brand portfolio, is said to be the oldest watchmaking brand in the world. The manufacture is particularly known for its Fifty Fathoms diving watches, which are sold starting at 10,300 francs.
