       PARIS, October 4th (Reuters) - Key stocks to watch on Wednesday on Wall Street where futures contracts on the major indices suggest a slight increase of 0.15% for the Dow Jones .DJI , 0.26% for the Standard & Poor's 500 .SPX , and 0.45% for the Nasdaq .IXIC :
    
    * INTEL INTC.O is up 2% in pre-market trading as the company plans to make its programmable chip unit an autonomous business starting in January and introduce it to the stock market within the next two to three years.
    
    * META PLATFORMS META.O plans to lay off employees on Wednesday in its Reality Labs division, focused on the metaverse, according to two sources who spoke to Reuters on Tuesday.
    
    * US and California authorities said on Tuesday that they were in discussions with Cruise, the autonomous driving unit of GENERAL MOTORS GM.N , regarding a pedestrian who was hit by a robot-taxi after being struck by another vehicle on Monday.
    
    * FORD MOTOR F.N announced on Tuesday that it made a new offer to the United Auto Workers union to end a 19-day strike, but noted that a dispute over battery factories was still unresolved.
    
    * ELI LILLY LLY.N stated that Mike Mason, head of its diabetes and obesity division, will retire by the end of the year. The pharmaceutical manufacturer is down 1% ahead of market opening.
    
    * MODERNA MRNA.O is up by 1% in pre-market trading after its combined COVID-19/flu vaccine showed encouraging preliminary results.
    
    * PALANTIR TECHNOLOGIES PLTR.N is up by 3.2% in pre-market trading after announcing a collaboration with PWC on data and automated operations.
    
    * Oil and gas companies are declining ahead of market opening as crude prices drop by over 1%. Oil and gas producers OCCIDENTAL PETROLEUM OXY.N , CALLON PETROLEUM CPE.N , MARATHON OIL MRO.N , and DEVON ENERGY DVN.N are down by 1%.
    
    * INSULET PODD.O announced on Tuesday that Wayde McMillan will step down as the company's CFO on October 20th to join 3M's healthcare business. Insulet was up by 1.4% after market close.
    
    * EXXON MOBIL XOM.N has selected BLACKROCK BLK.N as the potential buyer for its majority stake in Italy's main gas import terminal, according to a company statement. The entire regasification terminal would be valued at approximately 800 million euros.
    
    * The SEC, the US stock market regulator, asked a federal judge on Tuesday to dismiss a request from COINBASE GLOBAL COIN.O to end the regulator's lawsuits against it.
    
    * APPLE AAPL.O is down 1.3% in pre-market trading after KeyBanc lowered its recommendation from "overweight" to "equal weight".

    * POINT BIOPHARMA GLOBAL PNT.O - Jefferies, Jonestrading, Truist Securities downgrade their recommendations to "hold".
    
    * B&G Foods BGS.N drops 4.5% in pre-market trading after Piper Sandler downgraded its recommendation from "underweight" to "neutral".
