Matt Boldy scored his 21st and 22nd goals of the season and Filip Gustavsson excelled in goal for the Minnesota Wild on Friday in a 4-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

The Oilers, who lost in overtime to the Boston Bruins in their last game on Wednesday, suffered their second consecutive loss for the first time since their three-game losing streak from December 14th to 19th.

Boldy scored the first goal of the game with 23 seconds left in the first period and made it 3-1 with the second unanswered goal of the Wild in the middle of the third period.

Despite outshooting the Wild 43-20, the Oilers were unable to beat Gustavsson who made 41 saves, including 23 out of 24 shots in the third period.

Jonas Brodin and Mats Zuccarello (empty net) were the other scorers for the Wild, who have a record of 6-1-1 since returning from the All-Star break.

Leon Draisaitl scored his 28th goal of the season and added an assist, while Connor McDavid collected two assists for Edmonton.

McDavid may not have scored in eight games, but he has at least one assist in his last six games. He has 16 assists since the start of this streak, which began with an impressive six-assist performance against the Detroit Red Wings on February 13th.

Zach Hyman scored his 35th goal of the season in the defeat.
