Un projet fictif provoque l’agitation des fans : le festival Les Sableneys sur la dune du Pilat

Un simple projet d’école a suffi pour affoler les fans. A simple school project was enough to stir up the fans. Indochine, Taylor Swift, Aya Nakamura, Lana del Rey, Damso, DJ Snake, Niska, Manu Chao, and even… Britney Spears, all in concert at the Pilat dune in La-Teste-de-Buch, from July 19th to 21st, for the “Les Sableneys festival”. An event unknown to the battalion, which has attracted the anger of fans of Indochine in particular, due to the price of passes sold at 350 euros for one day and 950 euros for three days.

The Instagram account of the Sableneys festival, rather convincing… but fictitious.

The festival has an Instagram account, created on Monday, April 15th, on which it added new posts (since deleted) to promote the artists, a promotional video and a website with an online ticket office. But it is impossible to place an order. And for good reason, it is simply a study project of three students at the School of Art and Design in Nantes (MJM). The mention “fake account school project!” should have hinted at it.

Excitement on social media

“We had a graphic design project to create a fictional festival from A to Z, from artistic development to programming, and from communication to promotion. We went all the way by creating an Instagram account. In one post, we specifically invited Indochine. And that’s when fan accounts started commenting and it was picked up by the band,” says Molie, who initiated the project with two other students, Mandy and Shana.

The rock band reacted on Tuesday evening by posting a message on their X account (formerly Twitter), warning of “a scam” and “fraudulent websites announcing an Indochine concert at the Pilat dune in July”. They even sent a private message to the three students, asking them to “stop using or mentioning photos of the band on your account or we will pass the case on to our lawyer.” “We were surprised that it gained so much attention, we didn’t think it would be taken seriously because we clearly stated it was a fake account,” explains Molie. Some Indochine fan accounts are still convinced that it is a scam.
