Les Oilers d’Edmonton continuent leur séquence de victoires; Les Jackets, les Predators et les Stars remportent également leurs matchs

Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl each picked up three points and the Edmonton Oilers secured their 15th straight win by defeating the Chicago Blackhawks 3-0 on Thursday.

The Oilers are two wins away from matching the NHL record for the longest winning streak set by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1993. The Oilers have a record of 23-3-0 in their last 26 games and have not allowed more than two goals in their last 13 games.

This is also the Oilers’ 17th consecutive home win, with their last loss dating back to December 19th when they fell 3-1 to the New York Islanders.

Conversely, the Blackhawks have not won any of their last 19 away games (0-18-1).

Calvin Pickard stopped 27 shots to earn his first shutout since December 23, 2018. He has won his last four decisions.

McDavid scored two goals and added an assist, and Draisaitl recorded three assists.

McDavid opened the scoring early in the second period with his 18th goal of the season. He also set up Zach Hyman’s 29th goal of the season with a skillful pass in the third before completing the scoring into an empty net with his 19th.

McDavid has registered at least one point in his last 17 games in Edmonton.

The Oilers have won all three games against the Blackhawks this season.

Hired by the Oilers earlier this week, Corey Perry was not in uniform against his former team.

Petr Mrazek made 31 saves in the loss.

Jackets extinguish Flames; Huberdeau ejected

An Alexandre Texier shorthanded goal in the second period proved to be the game-winning goal as the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated the Calgary Flames 5-2.

The Ohio team was the last in the NHL to score shorthanded this season.

Yegor Chinakhov, Damon Severson, Dmitri Voronkov, and Adam Fantilli also found the back of the net for the Blue Jackets, who have lost only two of their last eight road games in regulation.

Daniil Tarasov made 28 saves to secure the win. He has three wins in nine decisions.

MacKenzie Weegar and Connor Zary were the goal scorers for the Flames, who have lost four straight games. Jacob Markstrom made 27 saves.

Trailing by one goal, the Flames were trying to come from behind for the eighth time this season after 40 minutes of play.

However, Quebecer Jonathan Huberdeau received a major penalty for boarding Jack Roslovic at 11:28 of the third period and their opponents took advantage to increase their lead.

Huberdeau hit Roslovic from behind and the face of the Blue Jackets’ forward hit the glass. Roslovic left the ice with a bloody face and did not return to the game.

Predators overturn Wild in 35 seconds

Alexandre Carrier and Filip Forsberg scored within 35 seconds in a three-goal third period for the Nashville Predators, who came from behind to defeat the Minnesota Wild 3-2.

Roman Josi scored his 10th goal of the season and added an assist, while Ryan O’Reilly added two assists to his tally. The Predators have lost three of their last four games but have a record of 21-11-1 in their last 33 games.

Joel Eriksson Ek scored his 21st goal of the campaign, a team high for the Wild. He has scored in three straight games and has points in his last six.

Matt Boldy also found the back of the net for his 16th goal. Filip Gustavsson made 25 saves.

The Wild had not lost this season when leading after two periods, with a record of 14-0-1 in such situations prior to this game.

Harley gives Stars victory in overtime

Thomas Harley scored 38 seconds into overtime and the Dallas Stars defeated the Anaheim Ducks 4-3.

Miro Heiskanen forced the extra period at the halfway mark of the third period as he made a return to the Stars’ lineup after missing 10 games with a lower-body injury.

Jake Oettinger made 18 saves for the Stars. His teammates Matt Duchene and Craig Smith scored.

John Gibson blocked 40 shots for the Ducks. Harley’s goal was the only shot the Stars took in overtime, his 10th goal of the season and his second in overtime.

Urho Vaakanainen scored his first goal in the NHL for the Californian team. Troy Terry and Jakob Silfverberg also found the back of the net in the defeat.

The Stars have won their last 11 home games against the Ducks, a streak that began in October 2015. They have also won 11 straight games against the Detroit Red Wings, two weeks before Christmas.
