La Banque mondiale soutient la numérisation et l’inclusion financière au Maroc.

Le Maroc vient de bénéficier d’un prêt de 450 millions de dollars octroyé par La Banque mondiale. Cette aide financière vise à soutenir le pays dans plusieurs projets de développement notamment dans les secteurs de la santé, de l’éducation et des infrastructures. Cette décision de la Banque mondiale démontre la confiance accordée au Maroc et à son économie, qui ambitionne de devenir un hub régional attractif pour les investisseurs étrangers. The World Bank has approved $500 million in financing to support Morocco’s inclusive financial and digital transformation agenda. The funding will be used to improve access to digital infrastructure and services for individuals and businesses, promote digital entrepreneurship, and enhance financial inclusion. The funding has helped increase the value of digital payments, which reached MAD 2 billion ($195 million) in 2021. It has also supported the development of micro-insurance, registers of pledges and guarantees to facilitate access to credit for SMEs, and the provision of financing instruments for innovative start-ups. Women’s access to financing and economic empowerment has been directly supported by various initiatives, and participation of women on boards of listed companies has increased. One focus of the investment will be to improve access to digital infrastructure and services in rural areas.
