Emma Stone, who received the Oscar for Best Actress for Poor Creatures, reunites with director Yorgos Lanthimos for Types of Kindness, whose release is scheduled in the coming months.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. After the success of The Favourite and Poor Creatures which earned her a second Best Actress Oscar, Emma Stone has already teamed up again with director Yorgos Lanthimos for a new film, the trailer of which was released on Wednesday, March 27.
Titled Types of Kindness, this film, set to be released in the upcoming months, stars alongside Emma Stone Jesse Plemons (Killers of the Flower Moon), Hong Chau (Whale), and Hunter Schafer (Euphoria). Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley, who were also in Poor Creatures, complete the cast.
According to the synopsis, Types of Kindness follows “a man trying to take back control of his life, a policeman whose wife seems to have changed after disappearing at sea, and a woman whose destiny is to become a great spiritual leader.”
Two other films with Emma Stone
Yorgos Lanthimos wrote this film with Efthimis Filippou, with whom he has previously collaborated on several films with absurd and dark humor: Canine (2009), The Lobster (2015), and The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017).
Types of Kindness, which was filmed at the end of 2022 in New Orleans, marks the fifth collaboration between Yorgos Lanthimos and Emma Stone after The Favourite, Poor Creatures, and the short film Nude.
They also filmed a movie last year in Greece, the details of which are still kept secret. And the duo is already working on their sixth collaboration: a remake of the South Korean sci-fi comedy Save the Green Planet!.
