Une balade avec ses chiens tourne au cauchemar : une étudiante britannique gravement brûlée par une plante toxique.

Tina Sabine, a 28-year-old British student, did not expect a simple walk with her dogs to have such a result. The young woman woke up the next morning with blisters all over her body, which literally prevented her from moving.

Panic-stricken, Tina called a friend who took her to the hospital. The doctors immediately thought that someone had poured acid on her, the injuries looked so serious. “I didn’t look at myself in the mirror until the hospital and the right side of my face swelled up so much that I looked like a Teletubby,” the young woman confesses in The Sun.

Shortly after, her face was covered in blisters. “My fingers also swelled up, they had to cut my rings,” Tina explains. The doctors then suspected an allergic reaction. But it was when she arrived at the Birmingham hospital that the graphic design student received the true diagnosis: she had come into contact with giant hogweed, a toxic plant.

The young woman believes it must have happened the day before, when she was walking her dogs, Mocha and Latte. Tina had to stay in the hospital for a month and she could only walk again after two weeks. Now, she has to use a cane to get around and has not yet regained the use of her right hand.

Tina returned to the place where she came into contact with the toxic plant and was shocked to discover that it was still there. “It’s scary to think that there are children playing who could touch it,” the young woman deplores.
