Erica Herman, former partner of professional golfer Tiger Woods, has accused him of sexual harassment, according to a court document filed by her lawyer on Friday, as reported by CNN.
The athlete is accused of having a sexual relationship with Erica Herman while she worked for him. He also allegedly forced her to sign a non-disclosure agreement under threat of dismissal, according to the document.
Tiger Woods’ former partner worked at his restaurant, “The Woods Jupiter,” in Florida. The two were together for five years.
“Mr. Woods was Ms. Herman’s boss. According to the way Mr. Woods describes the events, he imposed a confidentiality agreement on her as a condition for keeping her job when she started having a sexual relationship with him. A boss who imposes different working conditions on an employee because of their sexual relationship is a case of sexual harassment,” said Benjamin Hobas, Erica Herman’s lawyer.
“Tiger Woods, the internationally renowned athlete and one of the most powerful figures in world sport, decided to pursue a sexual relationship with his employee and then – according to him – forced her to sign a confidentiality agreement about it or be fired from her job. And when he was dissatisfied with their sexual relationship, he forced her to leave his home, locked her out, took her money, pets and personal belongings, and tried to force her to sign another confidentiality agreement,” the document reads.
According to the document, a “ploy” was used against Erica Hernan last year. Tiger Woods reportedly asked her to pack her bags for a trip to the Bahamas. After being taken to the airport, she was told to speak to Mr. Woods’ lawyer.
“Mr. Woods’ lawyer, unexpectedly, told her she was going nowhere, she would never see Mr. Woods again, she could not go home,” the document reads. She was then asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement, which she refused to do.
Previously, Tiger Woods and his legal team filed documents stating there was no non-disclosure agreement with Ms. Herman. She had filed a lawsuit when they split in October regarding a trust on the athlete’s residence. The lawsuit alleged that she had an oral lease agreement to remain in Woods’ residence for another five years. She claimed she was locked out of the house, which violated the agreement, and sought more than $30 million in damages.
