As per previous rumors, Samsung has confirmed the launch of its next folding smartphones Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5, as well as tablets and other connected devices at the end of July in South Korea. Here are all the details.

Several persistent rumors recently suggested that the giant Samsung would advance the date of its summer Unpacked presentation from early August to late July. This allows it to announce the new folding smartphones Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 earlier than the previous models launched last year, in the middle of August. Samsung, through a statement, confirmed that the event will take place in South Korea on July 27, 2023. Previously, the brand preferred to prioritize other locations around the world for the presentation of its flagship mobiles, particularly in Spain or the United States.
The launch will take place at the COEX conference center in the Samseong-dong, Gangnam district, a place that, according to Samsung MX President and CEO, TM Roh, offers a mix of past, present, and future in Seoul.

What are the features of Samsung’s next folding mobiles?

The new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 and Galaxy Z Fold5 smartphones will be equipped with a new hinge that would allow them to conceal the crease more effectively, particularly by using a drop-shaped form at its base. This design also serves to stick the two flaps together when the mobiles are closed, unlike the space left on the current Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4 models. Both devices are expected to benefit from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip for Galaxy, which is also found at the heart of the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra. The Galaxy Z Flip5 will offer a larger screen than that which is available on the Galaxy Z Flip4, allowing for better interactions when the mobile is closed.

Alongside Samsung’s folding mobiles, the brand is also expected to present its new connected watches Galaxy Watch 6 and Galaxy Watch 6 Classic as well as the new range of touchscreen tablets Galaxy Tab S9.
