Apple has released the iOS 17.4.1 update for eligible iPhones. This update fixes the issues caused by the previous major patch 17.4, which brought many new features especially in the European Union. Many bugs and vulnerabilities are thus fixed.
As announced about ten days ago, iOS 17.4.1 is now available on iPhone. The update was deployed yesterday by Apple and can now be downloaded on eligible devices. This patch does not come alone, since as usual it is accompanied by iPadOS 17.4.1. The two updates serve the same purpose.
These updates fix the bugs introduced by the 17.4 update of both mobile and tablet operating systems. As a reminder, this is a major patch for us European Union users. Indeed, Apple had to comply with the Digital Markets Act, a regulation that requires it to open up its ecosystem, including by allowing other app stores on iPhone.
This patch was less important for the rest of the world, as it did not bring any major changes for them. However, some users reported that iOS 17.4 was causing their iPhone’s battery life to drop: there is no need to worry, this behavior is normal when Apple’s smartphone is updating. What are the new features of iOS 17.4.1 for iPhone users?
According to Apple’s update notes, the iOS 17.4.1 update includes important security updates and bug fixes. The update can be installed by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
Apple does not forget the users still on iOS 16. These users can also download the security update iOS 16.7.7 which plays exactly the same role as the latest version of iOS 17. It is therefore necessary to download the updates as soon as possible to ensure the security of your device.
