Les Canucks de Vancouver infligent une défaite aux Sénateurs d’Ottawa avec un score de 6-3

Elias Pettersson and Pius Suter both scored twice as the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Ottawa Senators 6-3 on Tuesday night.

The Sens woke up too late after falling into a 0-5 hole in the first period. Claude Giroux scored in the second period before setting up Vladimir Tarasenko, who scored twice in the third, but the task was too heavy against the leaders of the Pacific Division.

Tim Stützle picked up two assists in the loss. The Senators were starting a five-game road trip.

The loss comes after the Senators removed the interim tag from Steve Staios’ title as general manager on Sunday. Dave Poulin was named senior vice president of hockey operations.

Anton Forsberg was in goal for the first four goals on 13 shots from the Canucks, by Ian Cole, J.T. Miller, Suter and Pettersson.

Joonas Korpisalo couldn’t stop the onslaught when he replaced Forsberg in goal. Pettersson added a fifth unanswered goal for the Canucks on the power play, his shot being deflected by an Ottawa defender.

Suter completed the scoring with a bouncing shot that eluded Korpisalo, and then Thatcher Demko took care of the rest by turning aside 35 of the 38 shots he faced.
