Carey Price had the chance to announce the Montreal Canadiens’ first-round pick at the draft, but it didn’t go as planned.
After being introduced by general manager Kent Hughes, the goalie took the microphone to say the name of defenseman David Reinbacher. However, Price had a memory lapse when pronouncing the Austrian’s last name.
Mistakes happen, and Hughes quickly came to the aid of the 35-year-old athlete, who had just spoken a few words in French. We can hear Price repeating Reinbacher’s name, undoubtedly embarrassed for forgetting his lines.
“It was planned this way,” Hughes joked.
Carey Price later apologized for his mishap on Twitter.
It was embarrassing. Sorry David….. Reinbacher. ????????♂️????

Later in the evening, goaltender Pekka Rinne also experienced some difficulties when he was supposed to announce the Nashville Predators’ pick.
