It’s not my fault
On Tuesday, the government was forced to backtrack on restaurant tickets: after Bruno Le Maire announced that meal vouchers would no longer be usable for all food products, Olivia Grégoire (responsible for SMEs) confirmed that, in the end, “nothing will change for the French” in 2024. Questioned on the subject this Wednesday on CNews, Le Maire ensures that the executive had anticipated the issue. But the government is not to blame. All this would be the fault of the senators, who had expanded the list of products eligible for tickets until December 31, 2023. “It was the choice of the legislature, the Senate. […] I remind you that this is a choice of the senators. […] It’s a senatorial amendment,” first fired the Minister of the Economy, assuring not wanting to upset the French.
