Escaped Pig Causes Chaos in South Carolina Home
Woodruff, SC – A South Carolina family received an unexpected visitor Tuesday when a neighbor’s pig wandered into their home, captured on a doorbell camera. The incident, which occurred in Woodruff, South Carolina, quickly went viral after homeowner Jessalynn Oliver shared the story and video on social media.
Oliver recounted the surprising encounter in a Facebook post, explaining she was cooking when she noticed the animal inside her living room. “I closed the fridge door and I spy with my little eye a giant pig staring in from the other end of the living room,” she wrote.
The video shows Oliver, assisted by her dog, chasing the pig out of the house. She playfully described the encounter, stating the pig “thought he was safe in the flower bed” but “got a spanking with the broom.” Oliver ultimately tracked the pig back to its owner’s property.
While incidents involving escaped livestock are not uncommon in rural areas, the event garnered significant attention online, highlighting the unexpected interactions between humans and animals. UPI reported on the incident February 25th, further amplifying its reach.
No injuries were reported as a result of the porcine intrusion.
