Chiara Poggi : Nouvelles révélations sur sa défense

Forensic Analysis Reveals Chiara Poggi Fought Attacker Before Death in 2007 Italy Case

Garlasco, Italy – New forensic evidence suggests Chiara Poggi, the 26-year-old woman murdered in Garlasco, Italy, in 2007, engaged in a prolonged struggle with her assailant. The findings, stemming from a recent expert analysis by anatomopathologist Cristina Cattaneo, were reported by Italian news agency ANSA and highlighted by Tg1.

The examination of Poggi’s remains revealed signs of a violent struggle, including bruises, contusions, and abrasions on her arms and legs. These injuries indicate she actively attempted to defend herself against the attack.

The analysis challenges earlier assumptions about the speed of the attack, suggesting the murder unfolded in stages, moving from the ground floor to the staircase within the house. Investigators believe the perpetrator paused at one point to observe Poggi’s body before inflicting further blows, potentially with a hammer.

This new evidence may shed light on DNA traces found under Poggi’s fingernails. While Alberto Stasi was definitively convicted and sentenced to 16 years in prison for the murder, investigators are revisiting the possibility of other involvement, with one DNA sample attributed to Andrea Sempio.

The case has drawn renewed attention in Italy, prompting a re-examination of the timeline and circumstances surrounding Poggi’s death. The Pavia Prosecutor’s Office received Cattaneo’s full report on February 23rd, and it remains under seal.

The ongoing investigation underscores the complexities of cold cases and the potential for new forensic techniques to reveal crucial details years after a crime has been committed.
