Despite a petition to cancel Booba’s show in Casablanca, it is still going on. After the announcement that the concert would proceed, Moroccan internet users have called for a boycott. In some of his songs, his lyrics are deemed “degrading towards Moroccan women”, which is why the rapper’s visit to Morocco is being refused.
On his Twitter account, Booba posted a video in which he keeps his concert despite the petition. The aim of the petition was to gather 5,000 signatures. On April 6, it had already gathered 4,000. In the petition’s introduction, it says: “The Moroccan people felt offended at the idea of learning that the rapper Booba was going to perform in Morocco“. On Twitter, discontented users can also be seen saying: ‘A little pride wouldn’t hurt us, what are we waiting for to ban him from performing in Morocco?‘.”

Booba Maes: the battle continues
The battle is far from over. Indeed, Moroccan rapper Maes supports the cancellation of the Duke’s concert. He even encouraged his followers to sign the petition by calling out the rapper from the 92. “Know that you are not welcome.” For now, the June 21st date is still confirmed despite the petition.
