The columnist who works, among other things, in “C à vous” with his segment “L’ABC de Bertrand Chameroy” opened up in an interview with our colleagues from Le Monde. This was an opportunity for him to discuss his time from 2012 to 2016 on the show hosted by Cyril Hanouna.

The humorist host on the show “C à vous” didn’t start his career alongside Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine but with… Cyril Hanouna. In an interview with our colleagues from Le Monde, Bertrand Chameroy discussed this stage of his career that doesn’t seem to be missed by him.

After his journalism studies, he got a job as a researcher at Canal+ and then became the voiceover for the reports on the show “Morandini”. It wasn’t until two years later that he developed his humor and impertinence and showcased them every week in a segment called “Le Débrief”, where he caught the attention of Christelle Graillot from Canal+.

In 2012, as “Touche pas à mon poste” was about to move from France 4 to D8, Bertrand Chameroy joined forces with Cyril Hanouna. At the time, he was announced as “the transfer of the year”. However, this love affair didn’t last forever. On March 8, 2016, he decided to leave the show after only four years of service. He cited a “lack of enjoyment during his segments” and struggled to handle the notoriety that came with his time on television. However, when he left, he faced a long desert crossing. Frightened by the lack of interest shown by certain channels, he decided to reverse course and return to “Touche pas à mon poste”.

“It was a mistake”

“It was a mistake, it lasted four days,” he stated to the media, referring to his brief reappearance. He definitively left Baba and the entire team of columnists in 2016 and has not returned since. He explained his departure by the presence of a “childish atmosphere and pure entertainment” that made him uncomfortable. It was a show that didn’t suit him, to the point where he “cried tears of joy” when leaving.

And since then, it doesn’t seem like a decision he has regretted. As proof, he recently took a well-aimed jab at his former boss. In a segment of “Quelle époque !”, the columnist was faced with a photo of Cyril Hanouna. The goal? To ask him a question. “Do you really think, as you say, that television is just television because sometimes I doubt it from your side?” he asked the host of “Touche pas à mon poste!” on C8.
