Jaffa Institute Launches Campaign to Provide Passover Meals for Thousands in Israel
TEL AVIV, Israel – As the Jewish holiday of Passover approaches, the Jaffa Institute is spearheading an effort to ensure vulnerable families in Israel can celebrate with dignity, providing 4,500 food packages filled with holiday essentials. The campaign addresses a growing need, as thousands struggle with food insecurity even in a nation with a developed economy.
Passover commemorates the liberation of the Israelites from slavery more than 3,000 years ago, a central theme of freedom and renewal. However, for many families in Israel today, the holiday brings the added stress of affording a traditional Passover meal.
The Jaffa Institute’s packages will support children and families in need, senior citizens, 700 Holocaust survivors, and Ukrainian refugees who have recently arrived in Israel, often with limited resources. Each package costs $100 and contains nourishing food and items necessary for the holiday observance.
“Every Pesach food box delivered… Every knock on a door… Every moment you give says: ‘You matter. You are not alone,’” the Jaffa Institute stated.
The initiative highlights the ongoing challenges faced by vulnerable populations within Israel, even as the country navigates regional complexities and welcomes new arrivals. The Jaffa Institute’s work provides a critical lifeline, ensuring that those most in need are not overlooked during this important cultural and religious observance.
Those wishing to contribute can donate to the Jaffa Institute’s Passover campaign, directly sponsoring a food package for a family in need.
