Spanish Design Duo Eliminated in Surprise ‘DecoMasters’ Twist

Madrid, Spain – A widely favored team on the Spanish television program DecoMasters was unexpectedly eliminated Tuesday, sending shockwaves through the competition. Lucía Bose and Palito Dominguín were announced as the latest contestants to leave the show, despite having held a strategic advantage in the latest challenge.

DecoMasters, produced by Shine Iberia for RTVE’s La 1 channel, pits teams of interior designers against each other in a series of renovation challenges. This week’s task required four remaining pairs to completely redesign a 3-in-1 living space – encompassing a living room, kitchen, and dining area – within a set budget and to the homeowners’ specifications. Lucía and Palito were given the power to assign the apartments to each team.

The decision, announced by judge Lorenzo Castillo, was met with visible emotion from both the eliminated duo and their fellow competitors. According to reports, Lucía Bose expressed her sadness, stating through tears that the experience had been “very beautiful” and that she “loved” her colleagues.

Palito Dominguín acknowledged a misstep in the latest challenge, but also emphasized the positive experience. “I’ve felt very loved, I don’t have to be afraid to express what I want to express,” he said, adding, “We did a great job, except for messing up today.”

Fellow contestants Carlo Costanzia and Mar Flores, as well as the duo known as Gemeliers, offered their support. Costanzia specifically highlighted his connection with Palito, describing them as “very vitamin-rich people.”

While their journey on the current season is over, Lucía and Palito have a chance to return to the competition through a “repesca” – a second-chance round – scheduled for next week. Lucía concluded her remarks by emphasizing the friendships forged during the show, stating, “We’ve truly made friends on this program.”

The program, which aims to revolutionize decoration and interior design, has gained traction in Spain, showcasing the talent and creativity within the country’s design community. The unexpected elimination of a frontrunner underscores the competitive nature of DecoMasters and keeps viewers engaged as the competition progresses.
