Wild Boar Attack Injures Hiker in Hong Kong, Dies After Fall
Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong – A 57-year-old woman was injured Friday morning after being attacked by a wild boar in Hong Kong’s Tseung Kwan O district. The boar later died after falling down a flight of stairs, according to police.
The incident occurred near a public restroom in Boon Kin Village as the woman was hiking with her husband and a friend. Police say the boar unexpectedly emerged and began chasing the woman, causing her to fall and hit her head. She sustained swelling on her forehead and scratches to her limbs.
Witnesses reported that local residents intervened after hearing commotion, finding the boar biting the woman’s leg and refusing to release its grip. Villagers reportedly used wooden sticks to drive the animal away.
Shortly after, the boar fell down a long staircase and was found unconscious by responding officers. It was later confirmed the animal had died.
