Indian Business Network Hosts ‘Parivartan 2026’ Conference, Aiming to Boost Entrepreneurship Within Brahman Community
PUNE, India – Over 1,200 entrepreneurs, industrialists, and business leaders gathered in Pune this week for ‘Parivartan 2026,’ an annual conference organized by the Brahman Business Network Global (BBNG). The two-day event, held at the Tip Top International venue, focused on fostering growth and collaboration within the Brahman community, both in India and abroad.
The BBNG, founded by Shripad Kulkarni, aims to create a platform for knowledge exchange and business development. This year’s conference underscored that mission with a packed agenda including panel discussions, guest lectures, and networking opportunities.
“The importance of developing strategic, mutual, and beneficial relationships cannot be overstated,” Kulkarni stated in his opening address, emphasizing the potential for scaling businesses through collaborative efforts.
The event drew prominent figures including Rajya Sabha member Dr. Medha Kulkarni, who spoke passionately about the role of entrepreneurship in India’s economic development. She also highlighted her commitment to strengthening the Brahman business community.
“Entrepreneurial development is crucial for India’s progress, and supporting communities like ours is vital to unlocking that potential,” Dr. Kulkarni said.
Spiritual leader HH Swami Jitendranath Saraswati, General Secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Sant Samiti, offered a different perspective, urging attendees to prioritize ethical conduct and selfless service alongside business acumen. He encouraged entrepreneurs to cultivate “Sattvik Virtues” – qualities of purity, harmony, and balance – and to resist greed and pride.
Dr. Vitthal Venkatesh Kamat, Executive Director of Kamat Hotels Group, shared his personal journey to success, offering insights gleaned from a career in the hospitality industry. He encouraged attendees to read his book, which he said had a profound impact on many.
The conference also recognized outstanding achievements within the community with the ‘Udyam Kaustubh Award.’ This year’s recipients included Anagha and Mahesh Pathak, Supriya Shrikant Badwe, Sanjay Mukund Paithankar, Anand Ganu, Ajay Shesh, Suyog Narawane, and Rajeev Panse.
The BBNG leadership team, including Vice President Mukund Kulkarni, General Secretary and Director of Communication Arvind Korhalkar, and Executive Director Suyog Narawane, oversaw the event. The conference concluded with a recitation of the ‘Pasaydan,’ a sacred verse penned by Sant Dyaneshwar, a 13th-century Marathi poet and saint.
The BBNG’s focus on community-specific entrepreneurship reflects a broader trend in India, where caste-based business networks play a significant role in economic activity. While such networks can provide valuable support and opportunities, they also raise questions about inclusivity and equal access to resources. According to a 2023 report by the National Sample Survey Office, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) – the backbone of the Indian economy – contribute over 30% to India’s GDP and employ over 110 million people. Initiatives like ‘Parivartan 2026’ aim to further bolster this sector by fostering a supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurs within specific communities.
Sponsors of the event included PNG Jewellers, Pitambari Group, and Chitale Bandhu Mithaiwale.
