Thiel Collage Women’s Golf Finishes Fifth at YSU Fall Kickoff

BOARDMAN, ohio – The Thiel College women’s golf team began its fall season Monday afternoon at the YSU Fall Kickoff at Mill Creek North in Boardman, Ohio, securing a fifth-place finish.

Youngstown state University (YSU) claimed the team title with a score of 292. Westminster followed in second place (342), with Grove City taking third (376), Franciscan fourth (392), and Thiel College rounding out the top five with a team total of 402.

Kelsi Hefner of Meadville, Pennsylvania, led the Tomcats, finishing 17th among 34 competitors.Hefner carded a round of 90, 18 over par, marked by seven pars and seven bogeys. Her score was a 43 on the front nine and a 47 on the back.Megan Bull (Hermitage, Pa.) and Emily Eutsey (Jones Mills, Pa.) tied for 23rd place, both posting scores of 99. Bull recorded a birdie on the par-five ninth hole and a par on the par-five seventh, alongside seven bogeys. Eutsey achieved a pair of pars on the front nine and six bogeys throughout her round.

Gracsen Reyburn made her collegiate debut, finishing 31st with a score of 114, including five bogeys.Thiel College will next compete at the Thiel Invitational, hosted at Avalon at Buhl, on saturday, with a 1:00 PM start time.
