India’s Haryana City Gas Assures Supply Continuity Amidst Regional Tensions
New Delhi – Haryana City Gas Distribution Limited (HCG), a major piped gas provider in India, has moved to reassure consumers that supplies to homes and vehicles will not be disrupted despite escalating geopolitical concerns. The assurance comes as regional instability raises questions about energy security across the globe.
Rahul Chopra, managing director of HCG, stated that the government has prioritized continued gas delivery to residential and transportation sectors. HCG currently serves approximately 100,000 domestic consumers and operates 195 compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling stations nationwide.
“No disruption is expected for homes and vehicles [using piped gas],” Chopra said. “The government has given priority to these two sectors.”
The statement reflects a broader effort by Indian authorities to safeguard essential services amidst international uncertainty. While specific threats to India’s gas supply haven’t been detailed, the BBC recently reported on potential strains to piped gas supplies linked to tensions in the region.
HCG, led by Chairman Kapil Chopra and Director Rahul Chopra, according to company information, plays a significant role in India’s growing gas distribution network. Chopra also holds directorships in 21 other companies, as registered with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
