Crisisx: A Promising but Flawed Post-Apocalyptic Shooter

HK Hero Entertainment unveiled their new project, Crisisx, a multiplayer post-apocalyptic shooter with survival elements, at Gamescom 2025. The game promptly garnered attention due too its aspiring scale: developers promise one of the largest maps in the genre, support for up to 5,000 players per server, and a free-to-play model with in-game purchases. Though, initial reactions were far from enthusiastic.

Journalists noted that while the character customization system initially appears promising, it seems to be plagued with issues. it appears to have been created with the assistance of AI and is riddled with errors. Furthermore, the enemy AI is remarkably weak. The animations and visuals evoke comparisons to outdated mobile games rather than a modern PC and console title.

A particularly memorable encounter with a massive zombie named Toby, whose appearance was more comical than frightening, added a unique flavor to the experience.

The core focus of Crisisx is its gigantic map, reportedly over five times larger than the world of Dayz. Though, gameplay across this vast landscape boils down to a repetitive cycle of destroying enemies, gathering resources, building, and exploring locations. The overall impression is one of an abundance of icons on the map with minimal gameplay depth.

Despite comparisons to the infamous “The Day Before,” Crisisx is at least a functional game, which already sets it apart. A release is planned for 2026, giving the developers time to refine the project and bring it up to the level of their stated ambitions.

key takeaways:

Ambitious Scale: Huge map, 5000 player servers.
Free-to-Play: With in-game purchases.
Early Criticism: Weak AI, poor visuals, repetitive gameplay, buggy character customization. potential: Still a working game, with time for improvement before the 2026 release.
