Spanish Game Show Contestant Javier Makes Dream Debut, But Alejandro Retains Crown
Madrid, Spain – A newcomer to the popular Spanish game show Pasapalabra, Javier, experienced a whirlwind debut on Wednesday, ultimately falling short against reigning champion Alejandro in the decisive “El Rosco” round. The competition, broadcast on Antena 3, captivated audiences with its tense back-and-forth, as reported by Antena 3.
Alejandro had previously navigated 13 prior episodes of Pasapalabra before facing Javier. He first secured his position by winning “La Silla Azul” – a challenge triggered by his loss the previous Tuesday – before battling Javier for the top spot.
“I had gotten used to the orange chair, but sooner or later I had to come back here,” Alejandro acknowledged before facing the notoriously difficult “La Silla Azul” challenge.
The stakes were high, with a prize of €178,000 on the line. Alejandro began with 134 seconds, while Javier had 132.
Javier initially demonstrated strong performance, achieving nine consecutive correct answers before stumbling on the letter “J.” He later faltered again on the letter “N” during the round. Despite these errors, Javier was the first to reach the letter “Z,” achieving 21 correct answers with two mistakes and 22 seconds remaining.
Alejandro completed the first round with 18 correct answers and 25 seconds. In the second round, Javier made further errors on the letters “P” and “V,” finishing with 21 correct answers and four errors.
Alejandro then played alone, securing one additional correct answer before misstepping on the letter “I,” ultimately claiming victory for the day and sending Javier back to “La Silla Azul.”
The competition continues to draw significant viewership in Spain, highlighting the enduring appeal of quiz shows and the drama of high-stakes competition. Alejandro’s continued success solidifies his position as a formidable contestant on Pasapalabra.
