BLACKPINK’s Jisoo Stars in New Netflix Rom-Com ‘Boyfriend on Demand’
SEOUL, South Korea – K-pop superstar Jisoo of BLACKPINK takes on a leading role in the new romantic comedy series “Boyfriend on Demand,” which premiered on Netflix March 6, 2026. The 10-episode series, directed by Kim Jung-sik (“Strong Girl Nam-soon”), explores modern relationships and the search for connection in a digitally-driven world.
The series centers on Seo Mi-rae, a webtoon producer struggling with the pressures of her career and a recent breakup. Seeking an escape from the complexities of real-life dating, Mi-rae subscribes to a virtual dating service offering the chance to create an “ideal boyfriend.” The story follows her journey as she navigates the line between virtual affection and the possibility of genuine connection.
Alongside Jisoo, actor and singer Seo In-guk plays Park Kyeong-nam / Gu Yeong-il. The cast also includes Yoo In-na, Ha Young, and a host of supporting actors including Gong Min-jeung, Kim Ah-young, and Han Ga-eul. “Boyfriend on Demand” initially was slated to air on MBC, one of South Korea’s major television networks, before being acquired by Netflix.
