PARIS – Netflix is expanding its animated content offerings with “Bass x Machina,” a new adult animated series set to premiere on October 6, 2026. The series, produced by South Korean studio Mir Studio, joins a growing roster of anime and animated shows on the platform, including popular titles like “Naruto” and “Demon Slayer,” which have broadened the appeal of the genre to a wider global audience.

“Bass x Machina” is set in a harsh, steampunk-inspired reimagining of the Old West, a landscape rife with danger, illegal activity, and supernatural threats. The story centers on Bass, a determined father driven to protect his family in a lawless frontier. He’s become a vigilante, battling criminals and facing the consequences of his actions, all in the name of safeguarding his loved ones.

The series boasts a notable voice cast. Brian Tyree Henry not only lends his voice to the titular character, Bass, but also serves as an executive producer alongside Jennifer Wiley-Moxley and Chad Handley. Janelle Monáe will voice Glory, described as a confident and emotionally strong character. Tati Gabrielle will portray Dana, a younger character whose safety is central to Bass’s motivations. Cree Summer, Chaske Spencer, Currie Graham, and Starletta DuPois round out the main cast, bringing to life characters described as wise, skilled, commanding, and resilient.

Mir Studio, the South Korean production company behind “Bass x Machina,” has a track record of successful animated projects, including “Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge,” “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf,” and “X-Men ‘97.”

While a trailer for “Bass x Machina” has not yet been released, viewers can anticipate its arrival approximately three to four weeks before the series’ October debut, following Netflix’s typical promotional timeline.

The series aims to explore themes of courage, justice, and the lengths to which individuals will go to protect their families. Netflix is currently the exclusive platform for viewing “Bass x Machina,” requiring a subscription for access.
