Teens Charged After Bondi Beach Stabbing
Sydney, Australia – Two teenagers, aged 15 and 17, have been charged following a stabbing incident in Bondi Beach, Sydney, on Friday night. A 54-year-old man is recovering in hospital after the attack, which police say stemmed from an argument over e-bikes.
Police were called to Glasgow Ave around 9:15 p.m. on February 27, finding the man with stab wounds to his upper body, according to a statement from New South Wales (NSW) Police. Paramedics transported him to St Vincent’s Hospital, where he is listed in serious but stable condition.
Investigators say the initial altercation involved the man and one of the teens arguing about e-bikes. The teen allegedly left the scene before returning with another boy, who was reportedly armed with a knife. The pair then allegedly assaulted the man a second time before fleeing.
Police arrested the two boys in the area around 9:40 p.m.
The 15-year-old faces multiple charges including wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of a prohibited weapon, common assault, stalking/intimidating with intent to cause fear, supplying prohibited drugs, dealing with property suspected of being proceeds of crime, and breach of bail.
The 17-year-old has been charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of a prohibited weapon, and breach of bail.
Both teens were refused bail and are scheduled to appear in Parramatta Bail Division Court on Saturday, February 28.
The incident highlights growing concerns about youth crime and escalating violence in public spaces. NSW Police continue to investigate.
