Trois joueurs de baseball d’EKU honorés pour leurs études

Trois joueurs de baseball de l’Eastern Kentucky University (EKU), Ryker Walton, Nathan Lawson et Silas Shaffer, ont été sélectionnés pour l’équipe academic All-District® baseball de 2025 par College Sports Communicators (CSC). Cette reconnaissance souligne l’excellence académique et sportive de ces étudiants-athlètes.Ces joueurs ont été reconnus pour leur réussite scolaire, avec des moyennes générales impressionnantes, tout en se distinguant sur le terrain. RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University baseball players Ryker Walton, Nathan Lawson and Silas Shaffer were selected to the 2025 Academic All-District® Baseball Team by College Sports Communicators (CSC).
The Academic All-District® Teams recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Walton carries a 3.79 grade-point-average (GPA) while majoring in business administration.  He was selected to the Atlantic Sun Conference Honor Roll in 2024.
The right-handed pitcher from Potosi, Missouri pitched in 15 games and made 12 starts as a senior during the 2025 season.  He struck out 55 hitters in 57 innings of work.  On Feb. 21, he tossed four innings without allowing an earned run and struck out six at Ole Miss.
Lawson, a Russell Springs, Kentucky native, has a 3.67 GPA while majoring in accounting.  The junior right-handed pitcher earned ASUN Honor Roll honors in 2023 and 2024.
This past season, Lawson saw action in 22 games and made three starts.  He walked only 17 and struck out 55 in 58 1/3 innings.
Shaffer has compiled a 3.55 GPA while majoring in business administration.  The sophomore catcher from Mount Vernon, Kentucky earned a spot on the ASUN Honor Roll in 2024.
In 2025, Shaffer hit .259 with 18 runs and a team-best 27 RBIs.
