Détective d’Abington honoré pour l’arrestation d’un agresseur

Detective Jeff Anderson of the Abington Township Police Department was honored by District Attorney Kevin Steele for the arrest and prosecution of Ramon Garcia, 33, a former medical assistant at Carbon Health Urgent Care location in Jenkintown who was convicted of groping, spying on, and sexually assaulting 13 women while posing as a nurse.

A ceremony was held today at the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Campus, during which DA Steele honored three civilians, 21 law enforcement officers, an entire police department and a police K-9 with commendations “for their extraordinary efforts and exemplary work in protecting and serving the residents of Montgomery County”, according to a press release.

“Montgomery County has some of the finest law enforcement officers anywhere, and I’m honored to be able to showcase their incredible bravery, exceptional work and dedication to protecting and serving Montgomery County residents. I’m also very happy to recognize these civilians who’ve made a difference by their selfless acts to help victims,” said DA Steele. “Montgomery County wouldn’t be the safe and wonderful place it is without this teamwork between law enforcement departments and agencies with assistance from civilians.”

From Detective Anderson’s award description:

For the exemplary investigation of a medical assistant at an urgent care facility who was arrested and prosecuted for assaulting and harassing dozens of female patients.

On March 25, Garcia was sentenced five to 10 years in prison. He is required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and is also facing four lawsuits intended to hold him and the urgent-care operator accountable.

He was arrested on March 12, 2024 for Aggravated Indecent Assault (2nd degree felony), Indecent Assault, and (2) counts of Invasion of Privacy.

On April 12, 2024, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Abington Township Police Chief Patrick Molloy announced that 24 felony and misdemeanor criminal charges involving 12 additional victims had been filed against Garcia.
