Unlike antiques, second-hand dealers or gold merchants, these auctioneers buy nothing. “We perceive a 22.8 % commission on sales. This means that we have no interest in underestimating or overvaluing objects. People come to see us with an object. If he has an interest, we offer them an estimate with a reserve price (Minimum sale price) And otherwise we head to a second -hand dealer or an antique dealer. “
From 100 to 170,000 €
Their interlocutor is free to accept the estimate and the sale. For the auctioneers as for the owner of the object, it is a bit of a lottery. But sometimes all win there. “The most striking sale is these Three gold coins that a lady brought us to Marc-en-Baroeul. A gold merchant would have weighed them and they would have offered 900 €. But it turns out that they were rare American pieces struck in the middle of the 19the century just after the gold rush. They were sold € 130,000.”

Why Bressuire?
“We have little crisscrossed all of France so we plant a random bug on cities according to the number of inhabitants.” The joke of François-Xavier Poncet reflects a certain reality. “We are going to cities or this kind of estimate is not proposed. It is not a question of chasing on the lands of our colleagues. Since 2000, there is no longer any district allocated to the auctioneers.”
Rossini Enchères also relies on unexploited “deposits”. “There is an exploration side. Our colleagues go to big cities. In Nantes for example, there are two or three studies and four to five Parisian colleagues spend there every month. We return every 18 months. We are the only ones to be as itinerant and general public.”
Rossini Auctions does not find a treasure at each stage. “It is very variable. In some places, we will have several hundred meetings, to others about twenty. There are no rule. You have to be in the right place at the right time. We are playing on proximity. Some people may fear disturb a auctioneer or reluctant to take their car without having the assurance that it is worth it.”
