Amazon launches platform for French local producers

The giant e-commerce has launched this Thursday, November 8 a new online store, called "The shop producers". The goal ? Allow French merchants to present more than 2,000 references to millions of buyers on the Amazon site in France and in Europe.
        Even the local does not escape Amazon! For now, this novelty is more about the different products that are usually sold during the holidays: foie gras, alcohol, chocolates, oysters …
In a statement, Amazon said that this platform allows regional producers to be able to "develop their own business" in France, but also in Europe. Each producer will have "control of (its) catalog, (its) stock and (its) policy of price", explains one of the persons in the release.

"Many companies in the agricultural world are still struggling to enter the digital economy", hence the idea of ​​this shop, said Patrick Labarre, director of the marketplace.

How it works ?

Amazon recommends a monthly subscription of 39 euros, and guarantees a free three-month offer. The American giant also offers two different options: ship the products by the Amazon company or do the expedition yourself. The percentage set by Amazon for the commission by a single product sent is around 8 to 15%.

More than 10,000 French companies on Amazon

The trades represented in this new project are numerous. "Today, more than 10,000 French companies sell on Amazon, employ more than 10,000 people to support their sales activities on the site and achieved an export turnover exceeding 250 million euros in 2017" , the statement said.

However, this new platform will make it easier for producers to sell their products and benefit from 50% of internet traffic.
